Marc Colat Head football coach of Haiti's National Selection team met with FC TORO's executive and technical directors, Patrick Bonnefil and Jerome Velfere at Parc Sainte Therese today and scouted FC TORO 2001-2002 players. Important collaborations are underway.

The FC TORO Familly of staff, parents, friends, supporters and the media were at the airport this Sunday to give a warm welcome the teams that represented Haiti at the Special Olympics Games in Abu Dhabi! The Ministry of Sports was also present to receive and congratulate the delegation on their success! It was a mixture of protocol, speeches and live band music.

After two minutes of additional time, referee blows the whistle to end the final football game of the 2019 Special Olympics between Haiti and Belgium ! "It was a difficult match" says coach Jerome..."We were ahead 1-0 at half time but 4 minutes before the end, one of our strickers Cima gets injured leaving us one player short on the field...3 minutes before the end Belgium scores and ties...Sasha our team captain makes a superb pass to Paul who scores... then suspense is maintained by opponents...free kicks, corners...craziness...but we did it !!!!"

Match finishes with a score 2-1 and unified team Haiti wins the gold medal at the biggest humanitarian sport event !

Friday and Saturday are always full of action, fun and success at FC TORO! We either WIN or LEARN, as we participate in and use competition as a means to improve and excel!

  • FC TORO U11 elite boys played and won  a tight game 3-2 versus Flamingo​ at Parc Sainte Marie 

  • FC TORO U12 boys / club played and won 3-0 against Efosmague at Parc Saint Vincent

  • FC TORO U15 boys / club played and won  4-1 against Efosmague at Parc Saint Vincent

  • FC TORO U17 boys / club played and won a tight game 3-2 against Efosmague after an extraordinary come back at Parc Saint Vincent

Molensky Cima, Fritz Paul, Sasha Bonnefil, Stanley Delile along with coach Jerome Velfere are heading to Abu Dhabi for the 2019 Special Olympics World Games. The delegation has arrived in Dubai this morning and will be in Abu Dhabi this Monday March 11.

Event will be held from March 14th to 21st.

During their visit in Haiti in January, GPS and GPS foundation members visited Jalousie, a Port-au-Prince slum home to many FC TORO players including one of our most talented 2001 boys: Fritz Paul. In an article entitled " Port-au-Prince, Mache Sou Yo", Daniel Toulson from the GPS Foundation describes this journey throughout this community, the impact of football and the role of FC TORO in creating new pathways and opportunities, uniting communities and smashing barriers through football.

As previously announced, Guerline Guerrier born in 2001 (U17), who joined FC TORO in 2016 and later entered the Haitian National Selection team has been offered a scholarship at a prestigious boarding school in New England. Guerline shown here with Steeve Schechter (left) and Pedro Herivaux (right), is a very talented and dedicated player. She is now on the final stages of tutoring preparations at Fidem Academy to honor this offer. With her heart full of dreams and thankful for the opportunity, Guerline says she is ready to take on this new venture.

The Seminar for the Promotion of Haitian Football was successfully completed says Patrick Bonnefil , director and founder of FC TORO. FC TORO, GPS and GPS Foundation share a common vision which revolves around creating opportunities for our youth through soccer and the involvement of communities. "This is only tip of the bottom of the iceberg", many opportunities will emerge from this Seminar and FC TORO and its  partners will build on this experience.

This Saturday at Sainte Therese from 9 AM to 3 PM, United Soccer Coaches represented by John Villa held a 11v11 Diploma training for coaches. There were nearly 100 attendees. 60 who had pre-registered attended classroom and field training and the others had the opportunity to listen and observe. The 60 coaches will receive a certificate and are now eligible for higher level training.

The GPS National Team Program tryouts in Haiti took place at Sainte-Therese on January 23rd to 25th for boys and girls born between 2001 and 2006.

The GPS National Team Program aims to provide a professional soccer player experience to the Elite players within the GPS family. Players successfully admitted to the program will receive the highest standard of coaching, experience additional elite training sessions and travel as part of the GPS National team to prestigious tournaments and events. The GPS FC Bayern National Team program is for players within the GPS organization who have excelled in their own regional environment. Players should exhibit exemplary work ethic, commitment and have an excellent technical and tactical base.

The FC Bayern IC camp tryouts took place today at Sainte-Marie and Sainte-Therese fields today for boys and girls born in 2007-2008. This program offers players a unique training opportunity delivered under the guidance of the experienced and professional coaching staff at GPS. The aim of the program is to identify players with the potential to become first team players capable of representing FC Bayern at a professional level. Players selected from these tryouts will be eligible to attend 2019 soccer camp in Georgia where they can be scouted by FC Bayern coaches.

In partnership with FC Bayern, Global Premier Soccer (GPS), GPS Foundation and United Soccer Coaches, FC TORO this Wednesday January 23rd, launched the Seminar for the Promotion of Football with the following objectives:

- Promote Haitian Football
- Educate players, coaches and parents
- Provide player exposure to higher competition
- Implicate various sectors in Haitian Football development

- Create pathways to a world of opportunities
- Invest in the future of our youth

Seminar is scheduled from January 23rd to 26th and includes 4 major activities:

The FC Bayern ID Camp, The GPS National Team Program, a Conference for soccer players and their parents on college placement and scholarship opportunities and a 11v11 training for coaches.

As part of the Seminar for the Promotion of Haitian Football, FC TORO in partnership with FC Bayern, GPS, GPS Foundation and the United Soccer Coaches presents a session of training and internship for football coaches on Saturday January 26th, 2019 at Parc Sainte Therese. During this session coaches will receive both theoretical and practical training from United Soccer Coaches. Certificate will be provided upon completion.

Spots are limited. Register now at Haytrac CFMB building on Airport Road. A copy of valid ID, diploma and training certificate will be required to complete registration.

Nearly 450 players applied this week at the FC TORO tryouts at Sainte Therese this week. Evaluations continue next week to identify players to integrate FC TORO Academy and to participate in upcoming FC Bayern and GPS tryouts.

As a result of her recent performance at the GPS November training and showcase in Massachusetts, Guerline was selected to benefit from a full scholarship at the Kimbal prep school. She will also benefit from full financial aid.

Guerline is currently receiving tutoring classes at FIDEM Academie to prepare for this opportunity.

Our U8 boys team played their first competitive match for the season this past Friday against Ecole de Football de Sainte-Marie (EFSM) from Cite Soleil. They won with a final score of 3-1 with goals made by: Jefferson Antoine (1) and Lorenzo Rene (2).

Our U10 boys also had a great win yesterday against EFSM with a final score of 6-2 and goals made by Arven Abellard (2), Alec Celestin (1), Ashon (1), Nicolas Moise (1) and 1 autogoal.

Our U19 boys won 7-0 against Ascoli FC with goals scored by Petido (2), Juderson (2), Jonas (1), Anderson (1).

FC TORO's first visit to GPS headquarters in Boston this week is extremely positive. Since their arrival in Boston, FC TORO President, Patrick Bonnefil and Technical Director Jerome Velfere, have been attending informational meetings on GPS functioning procedures and goals, and working with GPS Senior management staff on many great projects and opportunities, while Guerline, Paul and Cima showcase their talents for schools, universities and pro-teams.

Patrick Bonnefil, FC TORO's Executive Director, Jerome Velfere (Technical Director) along with three players: Guerline Guerrier, Fritz Paul and Molensky Cima, are headed to GPS headquarters in Boston Massachussets! 

​

The purpose of this trip is two-fold. Firstly it will allow key members of FC TORO staff and coaching members to gain exposure to administrative processes of GPS. Secondly, the three players will gain access to GPS' player pathways by practicing with GPS team and participating in GPS thanksgiving showcase.

Cima is one of the three players who will be traveling to GPS next week. Born in 2001, Cima is one of the most talented players of the Academy. He started playing football since the age of 9. His passion is football and his dream is to become a professional football player. " I have dream" says Cima "and "I believe FC TORO can help me achieve it".

Guerline Guerrier, one of our U17 girls will be traveling next week to Boston Massachussets to attend GPC training as part of FC TORO's affiliation to GPS, Bayern de Munich and GPS foundation. 

Guerline started playing soccer since the age of 7. She joined FC TORO and later on was also selected to integrate the Haitian National Selection team.

Guerline is currently one of our most talented players who demonstrate strength, determination and passion on the field. We are proud of you Guerline.

This morning, FC TORO General Director Patrick Bonnefil and Technical Director Jerome Velfere, who is also the designated coach for the football team at the Special Olympics games in Abu Dhabi in March,  met with Special Olympic Haiti's: Sport Director, Conald Colbert, Communication Director Pierre Richard Etienne and Executive Director Nathalie Philippe to discuss and put in place a preparation strategy for our players in order to achieve better results.

Created in 1968, Special Olympics International is a non profit organization that changes lives by encouraging and empowering intellectually challenged individuals by promoting acceptance though the use of Sports as a vector (www.specialolympics.org).

Sasha Bonnefil, Molensky Cima, Stanley Delile, Fritz Paul, and Jean Loubens Mathieu (shown in picture) of our U19 category, have been selected to represent Haiti in Abu Dhabi from March 14th to 21st. They will be competing at the Special Olympics alongside intellectually challenged players. In a spirit of brotherhood, this Unified Sports initiative will serve to brake previous barriers and open more opportunities for all.

North to Sainte-Marie and south to Parc Sportif de Thomassin 25, Parc Sainte Therese is considered to be at the heart of FC TORO's activities. Sainte Thérèse located in Petion-Ville, in the practice site for various football clubs including Don Bosco, FC Champion, FC Shana among others. FC TORO boys (U15 to U19) and girls categories practices are held there. 

Sainte Therse is the desginated field for the majority of our competitive matches and our Flag Day tournament final on May 18th of each year.

FC TORO reaches out to the communities in Limonade in the Northern part of Haiti near Cap-Haitien. Located on the Atlantic coast, Limonade, very rich in culture is home to some of the poorest of the country.

FC TORO in it's activities has been supporting this community. Yesterday the kids shown in the picture received accessories for school and football! A very rewarding activity along the lines of our goal for FC TORO's growth, progress and success to be beneficial to all...

Since the creation of the club, we have been reaching out to children in need through our support program, to the communities we collaborate with through structural and maintenance of their fields, to the teams we play with by providing uniforms and accessories for football and extending our opportunities to them...Starting this year, we are reaching out to communities in need in the countryside.

The Parc Sportif of Thomassin 25, also known as  Parc Saint Vincent de Paul has been one of FC TORO's practice fields since 2016. Training sessions are held there Monday through Saturday for boys categories U12 and up, and for girls. Located in the suburbs, in the community of Thomassin 25 near Saint Vincent de Paul Church, this field offers a serene environment to our players...We are grateful and thankful to the Thomassin community.

Parc Sainte Marie is one of the three fields where FC TORO practices take place. Located in Port-au-Prince, inside of the Sainte Marie community in Canape-Vert, Sainte Marie has been one of FC TORO's practice fields since it's inauguration in 2015. Practice takes place there, Monday through Saturdays for players between 5 and 12 years of age. The Sainte Marie community has been the most welcoming and we are thankfull!

The partnership will take effect immediately and will see FC TORO players and coaches have access to new pathways including the GPS National Teams and FC Bayern ID program as well as educational pathways inside and outside of Haiti! The partnership will also feature collaboration with the GPS Foundation.

Dedicated to providing a level of training adapted to our players' pace and drive for football, we will be reinforcing our structure as a Club and Academy.

Our Club open to players of both sexes born between 2012 and 2002 will be focused on development and learning through football while our Academy, open to our most performant male players born between 2006 and 2001 will focus on framing the pathway towards professional football.

In 2018-2019 collaborations with Global Premier Soccer from the United States and a renowed Haitian second and third division Football school will create more opportunities for our players!

On June 22nd, 23rd and 24th, FC TORO in collaboration with Filetsports (www.filetsports.com), organized a football summer camp at Saint-Vincent Paul field in Thomassin 25. Two U.S coaches: Trevor  Banks, Head coach at Brown University in Rhode Island and Brett  Parker, Head coach at Fort Hays State University in Kansas participated in this activity. Camp was open to all players who had the opportunity to be scouted.

Created six years ago to promote interaction and competition between various clubs across the country, FC TORO's FLAG DAY tournament has become the referral tournament for youth football! This year 1160 players participated! The tournament hosted 65 teams from 22 clubs in 5 categories including boys and girls!

FC TORO won the gold medal in boys categories U15 and U17 and in girls category U13!

FC TORO U17 won the gold medal at the Flagday tournament after a highly competitive game against sgainst 6e Sens! Final score was 2-1, with goals scored by Mackendel Petido and Jonas Herold.

This tournament involves the participation of 22 clubs, 64 teams in 6 categories:

- Male : U11, U13, U15 and U17

- Female: U13 and U18

90 matches will be played from April 14th to May 18th on 3 fields: Sainte-Marie (Sofa-green), Sainte-Thérese (Pétion-Ville) and Saint-Vincent de Paul (Thomassin 25)!

The semi - finals will take place from May 11 to 13 at the 3 fields. And the finals will be played at Parc Sainte - Thérèse on May 18th starting from 9am!

1215 players from various regions of Haiti including Gonaïves - Gressier -Léogane - Pétion-Ville - Port-au-Prince, Croix-des-missions, Cité Soleil, and Delmas participate in this tournament!

The second edition of our intrasquad tournament for this season finished this Saturday April 14 at Parc Saint Vincent in Thomassin 25! Event took place in a family day atmosphere.Our players gave their best and played their hearts out as they competed for 1st place.

FC TORO boys categories U13, U15 and U17, were in Gonaives on March 17th and 18th for friendly matches against Association Sportive des Gonaives. Five games were played, there were 2 wins, 2 ties and 1 loss. 

This weekend, weekly competitive matches are on! Intrasquad tournament will be launched on March 26th, and the sixth edition of our FLAG DAY tournament will begin on April 14th!

Excellent performance of our boys and girls at the Disney President's day Soccer festival! Our girls U12 (silver level) and U18 (gold level) won the bronze medal, our U13 and U15 boys both competing at gold level won the silver medal, our U11 elite boys competing at premier level and our U17 boys competing in U19 gold, won the gold medal!

After many weeks of preparation, nine teams in boys (U9, U11 (3), U13, U15 & U17) and girls (U12, U18) categories are traveling on February 14th to the Disney President's Day Soccer Festival in Orlando!

This is the first participation of our U9 boys and U12 girls in an International tournament and our biggest traveling delegation to date with nearly 140 players across categories including 50 sponsored players!

This game was the final of the tournament Champion of the Champions between the champions of the FC TORO Flag Day 2017 tournament and the champions of the Champions of the Summer tournament in U13 boys category!

FC TORO U13 (Flag Day champions) played against their counterparts in FC Champion U13 (Summer tournament champions) this Sunday and won 1-0!  Goal was scored by Yann during the first half of the game.

Enhancing our players exposure to competitive games is one of our goals as a means for team building, growth and excellence! This past Friday and Saturday, a total of 10 matches were played across boys and girls categories at Sainte-Marie (Canape-vert), Sainte-Therese (Petion-Ville), Saint-Vincent de Paul (Thomassin) and the Haitian National Selection team's headquarters in Croix-des-Bouquets!

Many lessons learned, leaving our kids eager for more as they keep challenging their previous limits!

Match was played on Sunday October 29th, at the historic Sylvio Cator Stadium in downtown Port-au-Prince where our U17 Elite boys defeated their counterparts from the Racine Club d'Haiti (RCH) known as "Le Vieux Lion" (Old Lion) by a score of 1-0 after an outstanding performance!

Carried out in two phases April-May and August, the FC TORO 2017-18 have exceeded our expectations with nearly 800 applicants evaluated by our coaches in boys categories U11, U13, U15 and U17!

​

The second phase of this selection process to identify the players to be sponsored by the club in 2017-18, has been going on since August 1st. As of this August 12th, the newly identified players will be competing against designated FC TORO players. This marks the final stages of the tryouts and the initiation of FC TORO preseason activities.

Today marks the close out of an excellent season! For the occasion, staff, players, and parents gathered as we handed out awards to our boys and girls who distinguished themselves throughout the season, we reviewed the ending year's highlights and announced the exciting forth comings in 2017-18!

The first edition of the Hispaniola Cup took place from June 2nd to 5th in Santo-Domingo in the Dominican Republic! Four teams of the Hispaniola island : FC TORO (Haiti), FC panamericano, FC Bauger, and Campa Futbol Club (Dominican Republic) competed in an atmosphere of BROTHERHOOD and RESPECT. A total of 9 games were played in boys categories U10, U12 and U16. FC TORO boys won 7 games and tied 2. All players received the Hispaniola Cup medal for actively participating in the successful launch of this new regional tournament.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of those who contributed to making this possible!

After 2 years of preparation, the Hispaniola Cup was successfully launched last week in the Dominican Republic as a result of the collaboration between FC TORO (Haiti)  and FC Panamericano (Dominican Republic). The first edition of this regional tournament has set the stage for greater collaboration between countries of the Americas around the beautiful game of football!

Our boys categories U10, U12 and U16 are getting ready to participate in the Hispaniola Cup in the Dominican Republic on from June 2nd to 5th. This football competition event symbolizes the launching of new and exciting collaboration between Haiti, Dominican Republic and other countries of the Americas. FC TORO in partnership with FC Panamericano is proud to launch the Hispaniola Cup! The first edition of this regional tournament will be held in the Dominican Republic next week from June 2nd to 5th. Four football clubs from Haiti and the Dominican Republic will meet  in a spirit of brotherhood to promote football and pave the way for strengthen collaboration between countries of the Americas.

With 20 participating clubs, 36 teams from all over Haiti including: Port-au-Prince (Cite soleil, Delmas), Petion-Ville, Gressier, Leogane, Cap-Haitien and Port-de-Paix, the Vth edition of our Flagday tournament took place over a month period on 3 fields! Finals were played at Sainte-Therese in Petion-Ville on May 18th.

This tournament has once more provided the opportunity to straighten the collaboration between participating clubs, and has set the stage for new initiatives to come to the benefit of our kids and football in Haiti!

We are thankful to all the people who have contributed one way or the other to this success!

The initial phase of the FC TORO 2017 tryouts was launched on Wednesday April 12th. So far, 276 players born between 2001 and 2008 have been evaluated and 66 have been retained for the next phases. Evaluation will go on over may months for the identification of new players to be sponsored across categories. Selection is based on players performance and available positions in the Academy.

FC TORO was invited by the Office management of human resources (OMRH) of the Haitian Prime Ministry to participate in opening match of the Fraternity championship organised by ORMH and the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Civic action (MJSAC). Our girls U16 girls category tied 0-0 with the Haitian National team (FHF) during this event at Sainte-Therese field.

FC TORO's recent success at the Disney's President's tournament is the result of hard work passion and dedication. At that tournament our traveling teams had the opportunity to live a dream, display their talents, and represent the club and Haiti. The experience has been extremely positive making way for an enhanced level of competition as the club evolves into an academy. Being present in the moment to understand and cease the opportunities for our kids is the mission of the club. With that in perspective, the club is moving forward with preparations for the next major competition event: FC TORO's very own Flagday tournament!

Five FC TORO teams : 4 boys (U10A, U10B, U12 and U14) and 1 girls (U17) teams headed to Orlando on February 16th. Competition started on February 18th for all categories. Boys categories won: gold (U10A), silver (U14), bronze (U10B & U12) medals respectively. Toro girls (U17) won the gold medal.

A total of 8 friendly matches were played last week across all categories. On February 7th, the U14 boys played against FC Flambo. On February 9th, the U16 won 2:1 against FC Arizona. On February 10th, the U16 girls played against U14 boys. And on Saturday February 11th, 2 matches were held at Sainte-Marie for the U10 boys, the U12 boys won 6:0 against Fonasef FC at Saint-Vincent de Paul, the U14 boys played against AFCC and the U16 boys tied 1-1 against the U16 Haitian National team at Sainte-Therese.

On February 16th, 4 boys (U10 (2); U12, U14) and 1 girls (U17) teams are heading to Orlando to represent FC TORO and Haiti at the Disney President's day tournament! The count down has begun as our teams get ready for this competition!

The new season is off to a great start at FC Toro with 17 games played on 3 fields in 3 just weeks!

On January 16th,  U12 boys tied 2:2 against the Association de Jeunesse sportive de butte Boyer (ASJB), our U14 boys won 2:0 against ASJB, and our U16 boys won 2:1 against Creativity soccer. On January 20th, FC Toro U12 girls tied 1:1 against U10 boys at Sainte-Marie and U17 girls tied 2:2 against U14 boys at Sainte-Therese.

On Saturday the 21st, our boys categories U10 payed two games against FC Dorlean at Sainte-Marie, they tied 1:1 their first game and won 3:0 their second; the U12 boys tied 2:2 against FC Flamingo at Saint-Vincent de Paul; the U14 boys won 2:0 against FC Phenix noir and the U16 boys won 2:0 against FC Lobo at Sainte-Therese.

Organized to promote competition within the FC TORO players in both boys and girls categories, this season's first edition of intrasquad games has been full of action and suspense! 

​

21 boys teams U8(3), U10(6) , U12(6), U14(3), U16(3) and 6 girls teams U12(3), U17(3) were constituted for this tournament. From December 5th to December 17th, 74 matches were held for the boys and girls categories. Final took place at the Saint- Vincent de Paul field in Thomassin 25 on December 17th in a nice family day atmosphere where our players got show their talents, dedication and passion! Competition was tight as our teams played to win the gold medal...There were cheers, laughter and tears around the beautiful game of football!!!

The Parc sportif de Thomassin soccer field near Saint- Vincent de Paul in Thomassin 25 has been made available for use by FC TORO. This has enhanced our capacity to organize practice games within the Academy, as well friendly games and tournaments.

Organized by the Haitian Federation of Football (FHF), this tournament initiated on August 11th, 2016, gathers 20 teams selected by FHF to participate. Our U15 boys’ category won the silver medal in finals held on September 4th, 2016!

This year, 430 applicants born between 2001 and 2008 have been evaluated by the FC TORO Academy for sponsored positions in U10, U12, U14 and U16 categories.

Launched on August 8th, the 2016 FC TORO tryouts are being conducted over a three week period during which applicants have an equal opportunity to show their talents. This highly competitive process has lead to the identification of the new players to be sponsored by the FC TORO Academy.

This past year, FC TORO undertook the project to construct its very own sports facility in order to provide the ideal practice setting for our children. Turning this project into reality has become inevitable as our club expands and moves foward with creating an Academy (read more below). The FC TORO sports facility will not only expand our soccer training capacity with 3 new fields but will also provide a recreational environment for all the members of the FC TORO familly including other siblings, parents and friends.

FC TORO has set the grounds to become a soccer Academy with the aim to provide the technical, tactical and system training necessary to set our standards higher and open up new opportunities for our children who wish to pursue soccer at a professional level. Jerome Velfere previous assistant coach of the Haitian National Soccer Team, has joined FC TORO as technical Director to lead this initiative. Coach Velfere will oversee and reinforce all coaching activities from training and selecting coaches to organizing, planning and running daily drills during practices.

Forty two players from different countries in the Caribbean including 3 FCTORO players from Haiti, participated in the final stages of the Digicel kickstart tryouts that were held in Jamaica from June 20th to the 24th, 2016. 

After 4 days of tryouts under the supervision of Manchester City coaches, Fritz Paul 14 years old was selected amongst the 8 soccer players from the Caribbean region to attend the Manchester City Academy for two weeks of training next October.
